Charlie Sheen Quotes Allen Iverson

Charlie Sheen has been the moneymaker in 2011 for the likes of TMZ and other paparazzi-centered news outlets.

After his alleged involvement with drugs and prostitution, it appears the disgraced Two and a Half Men star is trying to get his reputation back in order.

Rather than quote Einstein or Aristotle, Sheen decided to go a more professional route and quote former NBA player Allen Iverson, aka ‘The Answer.’

Iverson’s “Practice” press conference rant a few years back has become a very memorable, even to those who spend all of their money on hookers and blow. Watch the interview after the jump. View full article »

Erin Andrews to Cover the Oscars

The 83rd annual academy awards are this Sunday, and it looks like a certain sports reporter darling will be committing media infidelity by switching over to cover the awards.

Erin Andrews  covered the Spelling Bee and college baseball last year, so maybe she’s sick of the underprivileged sports world and ready for the limelight.

Either way I don’t think even hanging with egotistical athletes will prepare her for the celebrities she’ll be faced with at the Oscars. Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco may have something to say about that though.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries at All-Star Weekend

Kris Humphries may not have played in the NBA All-Star game this past weekend, but he still looked the part with Kim Kardashian on his arm.

The two were spotted all over the city in Los Angeles, including an appearance at Diddy’s Ciroq Vodka-sponsored event.

The most promiscuous Kardashian sister is known for her notorious move from the movie industry to the NFL, and now with Kris Humphries it looks like she could be taking on the MLB after the NBA.

Mike Tyson Talks Oscars with Leonard Maltin

Funny or Die has produced another video short, with Mike Tyson sitting down with renowned movie guru Leonard Maltin to discuss the upcoming Oscars.

Iron Mike got pretty upset when he found out his independent film wasn’t nominated for an Oscar. Check out the video after the jump. View full article »

Carmelo Anthony Goes on Conan Before Trade

Just hours before the biggest blockbuster trade of the sports year went down, then Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony went on Conan to talk about the potential deal.

Gotta feel for Conan, poor man did everything he could to get Melo to spill the beans but to no avail. The seven minute interview turned out to be what I’m sure the host would classify as a waste of time.

One of the coolest motorsporting events has taken over the nation this year. Nuclear Cowboyz features some of the best BMX riders in the world doing stunts for the event, all in a post-apocalyptic atmosphere.

Starting up north in Baltimore, the tour has made its way down south with an event in Atlanta and the next one in Tampa.

All in all 12 shows will be performed over the course of the three month tour, capping off in Glendale, Arizona on April 9.

Check out some photos after the jump to get a sense for the true thrill and danger involved in the stunts. Visit NuclearCowboyz.com for more details.  View full article »

Blake Griffin on Jimmy Kimmel Live

NBA All-Star Weekend has arrived, and local Los Angeles Clipper Blake Griffin stopped by the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk dunks and basketball.

He also elaborated on his new Subway-sponsored iPad app, which allows users to replace Griffin’s head with their own in a montage of dunk scenarios.

The Sporting Rave Interview with Dustin Miller

Nuclear Cowboyz is sweeping the nation, with the team of experienced motocross riders hitting big cities such as Baltimore, Dallas and Pittsburgh.

Dustin Miller, one of the tour’s most experienced riders, was kind enough to do a phone interview regarding the process and behind the scenes ventures of Nuclear Cowboyz.

Dustin has won an X games silver medal and a Winter X Games bronze medal, both for the best trick. A list of the upcoming venues is provided after the interview.

The Sporting Rave: How did you get involved in Nuclear Cowboyz?

Dustin Miller: I got invited to join the tour. Some of the stunts are pretty dangerous, so it’s not something you can really sign up for.

TSR: How do you prepare for Nuclear Cowboyz events?

DM: I don’t really do anything special. Sometimes there’s a basketball game at the arena the night before, so our crew can’t set up until  the morning of the events.

TSR: What kind of rehearsing do you do for the shows?

DM: Before the tour we spent 12 days in Florida going over the script and routines. Now I just show up, but occasionally they make minor changes to the show.

TSR: How involved has Fuel TV been, with their “Nuclear Cowboyz: Behind the Scenes” filming?

DM: They film a lot of the action and riders, and it’s all completely real. None of it is scripted.

TSR: How did you become interested in Motocross?

DM: I started riding when I was two. I raced for awhile until it became too expensive, so then I got into freestyle BMX. I made a name for myself, and get more work because of it.

TSR: Do you have a favorite venue to perform?

DM: It’s usually the same atmosphere one everything’s set up, the crowds really get into it. I’d say Boston stood out last year though.

TSR: What kind of training is required for Nuclear Cowboyz?

DM: You just have to be able to perform the stunts. You have to be on top of your game though, some of the stunts are dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing.

TSR: Any advice for people planning to attend a show?

DM: Little kids bring earplugs, and get ready to cheer and make some noise!

Tony Parker Meets Chris Evans, aka Captain America

The San Antonio Spurs have mostly stayed underground this season as usual, despite their NBA-best record.

Tony Parker’s divorce with Eva Longoria seems to be the most drama the team has endured recently, but it looks like the suave point guard hasn’t been affected on or off the court.

Captain America, the highly anticipated blockbuster superhero movie of the summer, stars Chris Evans as the character of the same name. Evans (center) was Parker’s buddy of choice along with an unknown Jayson Werth look-a-like.

Too bad TP didn’t bring Tim Duncan, although I’m sure that would have made for an awkward two on two conversation.

Aaron Rodgers and Pauly D Meet in Vegas

A week has passed since Aaron Rodgers’ Super Bowl MVP performance, and he’s still thriving in the spotlight.

Pauly D from Jersey Shore happened to be in Las Vegas at the same time as Rodgers, so the two television stars stopped to pose for a photo.

The DJ and QB appeared to hit it off, so maybe the producers of Jersey Shore will arrange for some athlete appearances next season.
