Shaquille O’Neal has been retired for multiple weeks now, and comedian Kevin Hart disclosed some of his new activities on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Justin Timberlake, a noted Laker fan, was also present on the show. Hart is hosting the BET awards, the only possible reason I could think for tuning in. Watch the video after the jump. View full article »

MMA star Urijah Faber has a big fight coming up against Dominick Cruz for the bantamweight title, and while he was out training he ran into Miles from Hard Times of RJ Berger.

Aa they exchanged greetings Urijah realized the two had met before playing UFC online, but that exchange hadn’t gone so smoothly. Urijah extracts his revenge on Miles, real name Jareb Dauplaise, by showing him some real-time moves in the ring. Watch the video after the jump. View full article »

Kanye West showed up on set of ‘The Decision’ last summer to support LeBron James in his new situation with the Miami Heat, but it appears the rapper’s alliance has shifted.

West has been spotted before in a Mavericks’ hat, but he also wore it to a Louis Vuitton event in Italy where Dwyane Wade was also present. The two got together to take a picture, and in one way or another the hat came off.

Kanye is doing his best to cover the logo and keep a level-headed smile with D-Wade’s arm on his shoulder. We all know the Heat have egos, so I bet Wade was hit hard when he saw one of the most popular icons in entertainment donning the apparel of the team that defeated him. Woud have been interesting to have seen his first reaction.

Funny or Die Makes Dirk Nowitzki Tribute

After all of the comparisons to Michael Jordan, it was LeBron James’ Finals counterpart and enemy that attained a similar phrase to MJ.

Funny or Die’s video encourages kids to “Be Like Dirk,” catchy tune included of course. When it comes to streetball it’s all about the appearance, and these kids have the German swag down. Watch the video after the jump. View full article »

‘Moneyball’ Trailer Released

The story of Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane is hitting the big screen this fall, starring the likes of Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill.

Beane changed the game of baseball with his statistical approach of drafting players to form a winning team that was affordable. After watching the trailer I have to say it looks very well done. Hill even looks like he pulled off the serious role in this one. Watch the ‘Moneyball’ trailer after the jump. View full article »

Not many know the intricate nature of sports and business like writer Jonah Keri, who wrote The Extra 2% to show how the Tampa Bay Rays went from worst to first using Wall Street methods.

Jonah freelances for ESPN and GQ among other publications, and hosts the aptly-named Jonah Keri Podcast. His book can be purchased here, and his latest work can be found via JonahKeri.com.

Listen below as he explains the book’s premise and we get into the current division races in baseball, and the exciting championship finals in the NBA and NHL. I don’t know what’s causing the echo towards the middle of the recording, hopefully I will have this fixed by the next episode.

Ron Artest Falls Victim to a Jimmy Kimmel Prank

Ron Artest and Jimmy Kimmel are known to have a love-hate relationship, starting with the tension that arose when Artest showed up to the set in only his boxers for a show last year.

This time Kimmel made sure Artest was the one who felt awkward, by tricking him into doing a PSA for an animal rescue organization, which subsequently we find out doesn’t exist.

Hate the man if you want, but there’s no denying Ron Artest is a character. Watch the video after the jump.

Tim Tebow Goes On ‘The Daily Show’

The NFL lockout couldn’t have come at a better time for Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.

His new autobigraphy “Through My Eyes” has been released, and the lack of football activity has given him more time for promotion. He went on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart to talk football and books, among other things. Check out the video after the jump. View full article »
