The dust has finally settled around the Los Angeles Dodgers, as owner Frank McCourt has agreed to sell the team.
Suitors have emerged, and legendary talk show host Larry King has said that he has joined a group to buy the Dodgers. From the quotes below it wouldn’t be difficult to misconstrue King’s intentions. It’s unclear whether he simply wants the position for show.
“It would be a thrill of a lifetime to be a part owner, a partial owner, of a team I grew up rooting for as a child in Brooklyn. To go to a ballpark and have an owner’s box, to even have a say in a possible trade — are you out of your mind?”
Obviously any fan would love to essentially manage their favorite team, but hopefully King can develop the mindset of an owner rather than that of a misplaced fan.
